Florence J. Jaeger advises clients in complex cross-border disputes and represents them in pre-trial negotiations, international arbitrations as well as before Swiss courts. She has particular experience in contract and commercial law, construction and post-M&A disputes. She also advises clients on debt enforcement and bankruptcy proceedings.

Florence regularly publishes and speaks on new developments in the field of Swiss contract law, international sales law and international arbitration.

Before joining rothorn legal, Florence has been working for several years as a lawyer in the litigation and arbitration team of Homburger, a major Swiss law firm. She holds a Master of Laws in Law and Economics (LL.M.) from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor (BLaw) and Master of Law (MLaw) from the University of Basel. Prior to entering private practice, she held positions as a teaching and research fellow at the University of Basel and was a visiting scholar at Columbia Law School. Further, she coached the University of Basel’s Vis Moot team.

Florence is qualified to practice in Switzerland. She is fluent in German and English and reads French.

  • Representing an international energy company in multiple ICC arbitrations in connection with project agreements concerning the development and construction of a nuclear power plant.
  • Representing the operator of a renewable energy plant in a dispute arising out of an operation and maintenance agreement regarding the remuneration for services in an ICC arbitration.
  • Representing a mining company in a dispute against an industrial engineering and steel production company over the required specifications of a conveyor belt in an ICC arbitration. 
  • Representing a seller in a dispute relating to an asset deal in an LCIA arbitration.
  • Representing an international construction materials company in Swiss litigation against private individuals for damages caused by climate change.
  • Representing a major biotech company in a post-M&A dispute concerning a share purchase agreement in a litigation before Swiss courts. 
  • Representing a Swiss company in the construction business in a litigation before the Zurich Commercial Court concerning the remuneration under a licensing contract.
  • Representing angel investors against a solar company in criminal and civil proceedings before Swiss courts.
  • Representing investors in multiple proceedings internationally regarding a special purpose vehicle for a real estate development project in Eastern Europe.
  • Representing financial institutions in US liquidation and claw back proceedings concerning the Madoff snowball scheme.
  • Representing clients in attachment, debt enforcement and liquidation proceedings.
